AFADWU has successfully recruited about 600 members in Mpumalanga Daybreak Farms. The Daybreak Farms’ members are generally from a range of other trade unions across the country.

Daybreak Farms is a mature, well-established and integrated poultry business with critical mass and a fully capitalised infrastructure which compares very favourably to South Africa’s other commercial suppliers of chicken. The company processes over a million birds per week, with their world-class distribution center and logistic network and chain of retail shops.

AFADWU is also making a significant progress in recruiting members in Eastern Cape, at the Montego Chicken Factory. We have signed about 200 new members from the factory to join AFADWU.

AFADWU welcomes our new members, and we are looking forward to having a productive and conducive relationship in protecting the workers’ rights in their respective workplace and industry.
